Funding for Adoption Home Studies

The past few years have seen many changes in adoption services in Cuyahoga County. In 2009, legislators trying to balance Ohio’s budget eliminated some adoption funding. These state funds were given annually to Cuyahoga County. They helped private agencies like OFY provide adoption services without cost to potential adoptive parents. OFY must now charge nominal fees (see the Adoption Fee Schedule) to individuals who want to have a home study completed.

There is a way for you to receive a free completed home study – and that is by agreeing to be a foster parent! However, the training that you are required to complete is still free of charge whatever you decide to do.
