Early Childhood Help Me Grow Home Visitation Services
OFY Help Me Grow (“HMG”) Home Visitation Services is a program that works with young families or families meeting certain criteria. Our workers or “home visitors” have all been trained in the “Parents As Teachers” curriculum. This is a nationally-recognized model for child development and parenting infants and toddlers.
We come to you, in your home and give you:
-
Someone to talk to about your child.
-
Parenting education and answers to your questions about child development.
-
Easy-to-read handouts with good reference information.
-
Child-friendly activities that you can do with your child to help them grow.
-
Developmental screenings for your child.
-
Help in locating resources in the area for your child.
-
Encouragement and suggestions to keep your child healthy and safe.
-
Help for you to grow as a person and together as a family.
Your OFY home visitor will work with you to create a schedule of visits to your home and begin the task of tailoring a “family plan” designed specifically for you and your child.
